Joelle & Pete's Whimsical (and Rainy) Wedding

On a beautiful rainy day this August, our family property in Uxbridge, Ontario was transformed into a whimsical garden wedding for our sister Joelle and our new Brother-in-Law Petey. Not surprisingly, we inBloomers were in our glory…after all it isn’t every day you get to design your sister’s wedding! Needless to say we did not leave a square inch, tree or garden of our 3 acre property untouched or undecorated.

Joelle loves nature, birdies, the colour green, asian influences and all things mini. Not an easy task but definitely our funnest! I’d say we did a pretty fine job combining these elements…take a look and see what we came up with!

Faeries and Mystical Creatures Set Event Above and Beyond

On Sunday night we went to an event called, “A Midsummer Night's Cabaret” which was held on a magical property owned by an artist who is known for his beautiful metalwork. The organizers made use of the 100 acres of meadows, forests, metal sculptures and whimsical artists’ studio by having live performances take place throughout the property. The evening was filled with pink garden faeries serving hors d’oeuvres to the guests under a vine covered rose garden, singers and clowns took the stage in the artists’ studio, an acrobatic woodland creature climbed fabric which was hung from a tree to a drum beat played by a creature who was half man – half goat, a 10 foot tall scarecrow was conjured to life and walked across the horizon and it all concluded with fire dancing elves at sunset. And we can’t forget the host of the evening – an adorable cavewoman who went by the name of Rod!

The highlight for us was the use of all the magical creatures throughout the evening that remained in character allowing the guests to feel like they were truly walking around in a magical fairy tale. All in all, we definitely approved!

The Breast Darn Show We've Ever Done!

In less than 60 days, we will throw one of our largest parties yet - The Breast Darn Show Period!! And that is a fact. With an audience of 600 people, we pay tribute to the strength and courage of all women touched by breast cancer. How do we plan to do this? With amazing musicians, entertainers and cirque acts - think big: silks rigged up to 40 feet off the ground, with live acrobats spinning from them! And how do we ensure our guests feel so honoured? With our theme. We carry the theme throughout the entire evening, top to bottom, beginning to end - infusing it in the lights, the music, the centerpieces. What most people don't realize is that every event should tell a story. You may even add in sub-themes for intricacy. At the Breast Darn Show, the sub theme is "Angel Standing By." To show our women they are cared for, and to show anyone whose lost a loved one that they are still with them, we add ethereal cirque characters implanted throughout the audience, embodying our "angels."
